Hydro Skin is a complete hydration solution for dry / sensitive skin types. Hydro Skin products contain Hyaluronic Acid, Omega 3 & 6 as well as vitamins A & E. All products are dermatologically approved, even kind to really sensitive skins.
Lets have a look in depth how each of the active ingredients benefit your skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a carbohydrate occuring naturally throughout the human body. Its function in the body is to bind water and lubricate the movable parts of the body such as your muscles and joints. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness acts as an excellent moisturizer in skin-care products. HA has waterloving molecules which has been dubbed as 'nature's moisturizer'.
The skin is the largest organ in the body comprising about 15% of the body weight. Roughly 50% of the Hyaluronic Acid in our body is found in the skin. HA and Collagen are vital to maintaining the skin’s layers and structure. It is the collagen that gives the skin its firmness but it is the HA that nourishes and hydrates the collagen. Imagine the collagen as the stretchy fibers that restore the skin back to shape when stretched. Collagen is like a rubber band but stretch that rubber band a million times, like what we do with our skin and without any moisture. Eventually that rubber band gets overstretched (saggy) and dried out and will most likely break. This is much the same way the collagen in our skin reacts leaving our skin in need of moisture. Now imagine that same rubber band stretched a million times while under water the whole time. Chances of that rubber band drying out and breaking are minimal. Consider the Hyaluronic Acid as the water that keeps the collagen moist and elastic. Collagen is continuously surrounded and nourished by the gelatinous HA substance. Young skin is smooth and highly elastic because it contains high concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid, which helps skin stay healthy. As we grow older, the body loses its ability to maintain this same concentration in the skin. With decreasing levels of HA in the skin, so goes the ability of the skin to hold water. The result, the skin becomes drier and loses its ability to maintain it's hydration. Hyaluronic acid acts as a space filler by binding to water and thus keeping the skin wrinkle-free.
Omega 3 & 6
Fatty Acids are important to all systems of the body in order to function normally. The body however does not produce these fatty acids which is why it is vital to supplement the body through a diet rich in Omega 3 & 6, for healthy brain, nervous system and skin function. The benefits of Omega 3 & 6 for your skin is doubled up when using products that contain these essential fatty acids to ensure that your body is nourished not only from within, but from the outside too.
Vitamins A & E
Vitamin A is also known as preformed Vitamin A (Retinol), is essential for the development of the immune system to fight of infections as well as maintaining healthy eyes, sight and bone strength and formation from an early age.
Vitamin A is known to slow down the ageing process, this will slow down the formation of fine line and wrinkles. Vitamin A also helps with the process of the skin shedding its old cells and replacing of the new cells.
Vitamin E is a well know powerful antioxidant, assisting the body in eliminating free radials which cause premature ageing and the damage of cells. Vitamin E very much the same is known to slow down the ageing process and can delay the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
On Use:
Sorbet really do deliver on quality of their products. I have been using this range for 4 months now. I usually find that when using a new skincare range, it takes a week or two before I notice any difference at all. Using the Hydro Skin range left my skin feeling softer, smoother and hydrated in the first day of use. Now thats impressive, even by my standards!
The Hydro Skin Cleanser comes in a foam pump bottle, 210ml which could be economical, I have used less than half the bottle in one month (2-3 pumps of foam is efficient) so I would imagine that a bottle would last 2 perhaps stretching 3 months. The foam is very light weight, and smooths over moistened skin very easily and gently. Smells really nice too! My face feels really clean and hydrated.
This is followed up with the Hydro Skin Day Cream, comes in a 50ml attractive tub. I find this cream to very extremely hydrating for my skin, which has improved over use, to the point where I can no longer use the night cream. I now use the day cream morning and night and I get the sufficient hydration my skin needs. This cream does not leave an oily residue on your skin, like some brands can. The day cream contains an SPF for added sun protection.
On the days that I remove my make up, I use the Hydro Skin Wipes. These wipes are quite unique. One side is smooth and the other side contains microbeads used to exfoliate the skin. This is a great two-in-one product, not only to remove make up, but as a pre-cleansing function by exfoliating the skin! Thumbs up on these babies, 25 wipes in a pack, economical for me as I do not wear much make up and exfoliate 2 weekly.
The overall experience on these products are definately a good one, I have really sensitive skin and have had no adverse reactions to these products. Skin improvement has been dramatic over the 4 months of usage. Skin is so soft and smooth, like a baby's bottom (without any exaggeration), and skin is brighter.
This is a great skincare range, coupled with great ingredients to nourish the skin. Please remember to drink plenty of water to flush your body of toxins, and to eat a diet rich in vitamins and minerals which will ensure healthy skin and body too.
